As a maternity photographer, I understand the importance of photographing this season of life. Those nine months fly by and while you’re anxiously awaiting your little one, maternity portraits are the perfect excuse to pamper yourself and feel extra pretty. Especially when you’re still in mom-mode 24/7 with big siblings and might not be able to get as much rest as you did with your first pregnancy.
As a mom of six, I understand the importance of including older siblings and how impactful the life change is for them, too. Remember, they’re walking into the unknown of a new sibling right alongside you. They need to feel like their role still matters in the family. Part of that is making sure to include them in as much as possible with the new baby. I will always, always encourage including older siblings in a maternity session.
