Family. It's such a small, yet powerful word.
It means so many things to each individual person. Each family is unique and that is one of my favorite things about being a family photographer! I love observing the little moments that often go unnoticed. The huge smile when a father gives his son a big bear hug or the soft, comfort when a mother nuzzles her nose into her babies neck.
Before you know it, those little ones will be too big to toss in the air and the snuggles will be few and far between. With 6 kids of my own and years of experience with children of all ages, I can help make your San Diego family photos fun and as stress free as possible. What is the best time of year to do a family photos in San Diego?
San Diego's year-round mild climate makes it an ideal location for family photo sessions in any season. Spring brings vibrant blooms, creating colorful backdrops, while summer offers longer days with beautiful beach sunsets. Fall and winter in San Diego are equally wonderful, with softer light and cooler temperatures, providing a different but equally beautiful setting. Essentially, any time of year is perfect in San Diego for capturing those special family moments.
What are some great locations for family photos in San Diego and cities like Carlsbad, La Jolla and Encinitas?
San Diego and its neighboring cities offer stunning locations for family photos. Carlsbad and Encinitas some some of my favorite beach towns for family photography sessions at the coast, but spots like Coronado Island are unique as well. San Diego also has plenty of fun trails & the Bataquitos Lagoon is one of my favorites for photography sessions. Downtown Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside and San Diego all offer unique spots for an urban setting too.

If you prefer to wear or shop for your own items, I provide all my clients with a full prep & styling guide to make the session planning super simple! The family photography guide is full of color tips, hair and makeup referrals, where to shop and tips to make the overall process fun and easy!
