You can usually guarantee amazing smiles doing this.

Taking breaks during the photo session is totally okay! If things start to feel overwhelming or chaotic, take a break and regroup before continuing with the shoot. If kids start getting fussy or tired, give them some extra snuggles or time away from the camera until they’re ready again. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water before and during the shoot so everyone stays hydrated!

I have zero problem looking like a goofball during a session. Getting multiple ages of kids to look relaxed and smile in photographs can be tricky. A trick that works for one age group, may not work for another. Sometimes it takes a fine balance between peek a boo and silly noises to get the whole family smiling. I strive to achieve the most natural smiles and facial expressions from everyone. You won’t hear me asking for the whole family to say cheese. I encourage parents to relax and be silly as well. When the kids see mom and dad smiling & having fun they will too!
