FAQ – Newborn Photography

Q:  What’s the best age to take newborn photos?
A:  My newborn photography sessions are done within the first 2 weeks of life. Preferably, the first 5-10 days if possible. Contact me with any questions regarding a baby slightly older than that.

Q:  What should baby wear for newborn photos?
A: Most of my newborn photos are done in a diaper only for wrapped shots and without any clothing for the rest. If you have a special outfit you would really like in a photograph, please feel free to bring it! Check out my newborn photo gallery for ideas!

Q:  Where do you shoot newborn photography?
A: I shoot most of my newborn sessions in my home studio in Encinitas, CA.

Q:  Can my family be in the newborn photos?
A: Yes. Parent & sibling shots are great. I leave it up to my clients to decide if that is something they would like.

Q: Is there a preferred time of day to shoot newborn photography?
A: I do almost all of my sessions in the morning. Roughly around 9am, but that can be flexible if needed. I also use a space heater to keep the baby happy!
