Newborn Photography Session

I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend! The weather here in Encinitas, CA was amazing as usual. You could feel a little bit of fall in the air, but it was still warm enough to head to the beach and pool. Part of my weekend was spent working on one of my recent newborn photography sessions I shot last week. This little man is #3 in the lineup for his lucky parents. Even though he wanted to stay wide awake for most of our photography session, I was able to get him to sleep a few times and get these sleepy little shots.

Some of the tricks I use for my newborn clients are portable space heaters, swaddles, white noise machines, lots of rocking, plenty of feeding time, and a few other tricks I have up my sleeve. Sometimes a baby will just not want to sleep and that’s ok! I take my time and eventually they will drift off. I’ve gotten very accustomed to going with the flow and listening to the baby’s cues. I really love what I do! Who wouldn’t want to snuggle a tiny baby for 2-3 hours? Best job ever!
